Step 1: Part Selector

As you see, the main idea of the Part Selector tool, is to make the alignment process more convenient in cases where you need to deal with the complex assemblies that have many parts.

• If the default Main Part within the 3D Viewer is already the one you need and is oriented correctly, simply start the alignment with the AR features.
• If you need it to be a different or needs a different orientation, use the Part Selector as per the video above and then go to the AR mode.

Please also make sure that you place the QR code target on the correct part.

Step 2: Advanced Controls for Alignment

You already learned how to use controls for alignment on the basic level using Part 4: Basic Assembly Alignment.

In this video, we will show you how controls actually work from the distance, and how you can apply this knowledge for the alignment of the more complex assemblies.

As you have learned more about controls, you can have more freedom with aligning the model. For instance, since you understand that Roll control moves the whole model, you can apply it from the QR code side, right when you mapped the area.

Also, since now you know about the actual actions of controls, hopefully, it's more clear why we put some limitations or ask about specific positions when you use certain controls.

Even so, we will still ask you to align any model while standing close to it - you will learn more about the full advanced alignment process in the next guide.
